My family records go back to Seigneur Pierre Mabille, a French Huguenot born in 1550. His decendants fled to Holland where they took on the Dutch name of Van Naerden. Generations later, when moving to New York City, the English version of the original name was taken -Mabie. Captain Abraham Maybee was a United Empire Loyalist who migrated to Adolphustown (in Ontario) - 1784. His decentants have settled in the townships near there.
Apparently, any spelling of the name is somehow related to the MAYBEE name including:

MAYBEE,
MABIE,
MABEE,
MABE,
MABEY, or the original
MABILLE.

I will share any information I have and welcome more from all sources.
