Robert Page and Ebenezer Fessenden lived on adjacent farms about three miles from Fryeburg. Fessenden's acres lay chiefly along the brow of "the old Hill". Page's at its foot. Both included sections of the broad-lying intervale meadows, elm-studded and verdant, through which the picturesque river Saco doubled and twisted its clear current in a thirty- mile stretch within the limit of the town. Page carried on a thrifty business at tanning as well as farming. He was said to have been a man of weight in school and church matters.

Notes for Horatio Nelson Page:
Dr. Nelson Page was born in Fryeburg, Maine and educated at the Fryeburg Academy. He then attended the Gardner Lyceum before moving to the home of an uncle, Dr. Jonathan Page, in Brunswick, Maine. He 'read medicine' with his uncle and 'attended lectures' at Bowdiin College, Brunswick and at the medical school in New Haven (probably affiliated with Yale). His diploma came from Bowdoin (1831).
After graduation, he established his practice in Brewer, Maine across the Penobscot River from Bangor. His nephew Alpheus Felch Page, MD trained with him and subsequently established a practice in neighboring Bucksport. Alpheus' partner in Bucksport was another relation, Dr. Enoch Fessenden. Alpheus' younger half-brother (Albert Ferdnand Page) became a druggist in Bucksport.
After more than twenty years in Brewer, in 1857, Nelson moved his family and practice to Auburndale, Mass. where his daughters attended Lasell Seminary. After the last child graduated from school, the family moved to Chelsea, Mass. where he also practiced for a time. When he was 85 he moved with his daughter Rebecca P.
