I am researching several branches of my familly, wich from my Father side, and male ascendency comes from the North of Portugal and settled around 1600 in the Açôres Islands. I am now reseaching the Branches:
The origins of the Maya familly.
Their interlink with the Faria familly.
Heinrich Bernhard Markert, my great grandfather, from Germany, Aue Sachen, born the 18 March 1841 in Aue or around.
A sometime called bastard son of Ramiro II of Leon supposedly by a Moorish Woman called Ortiga de Gaya
The descendency of Fernando D'Eça, grandson of the Portuguese King D. Pedro I
A bastard son of the Portuguese King D. Sancho I by Maria Moniz, (if ever existed!).
The relation of this Maria Moniz to the King Ramiro II of Leon trough one of his bastard sons.
