| I am researching the Szkopiak and Piaskowiak families from Orenice and Konarzew, farm communities surrounding Piatek in central Poland. The Polish decendants met for a reunion in Lodz, Poland in August 2004 with my husband, Bruce Coppock, and me, the only American cousin of that generation. Seventy five of us gathered, including spouses, children, and grandchildren with the surnames Piaskowiak, Gladysz, Matusiak, Stasiak, Goraca, Tybura, Kasica, and Milczarek. Four generations were represented. It is my goal to develop a tree of my ancestors, including my mother's side which settled in Cleveland, Ohio, with the names Grochowski and Ogonek, from Katowice and Kolbuszowa. I am also including my husband Bruce's family, the Quaker Coppock family, which finds its roots in sixteenth century England, as well as the families of my former husbands, Morton David May (deceased) whose ancestors emigrated from Bavaria, and Joseph Lynn Davis, from England and Germany. |
