John Hidle (son of Martin Hidle and Elisabetha Simons) was born Abt. 1775 in Charleston, South Carolina, and died Abt. 1848 in Monroe Co. Georgia. He married Mary Blakely on Bet. 1800 - 1809 in South Carolina, daughter of Dionisious Blakely and Fanny.

Zion Lutheran Church in Lexington District, South Carolina records include tithing records for Martin and John Hidle, who are thought to be father and son.

There is not so far conclusive proof that John Hidle is the son of Martin Hidle/Heydel and Elisabetha Simons, but the 1817 Dead Poll list for Lexington District, South Carolina strongly suggests the family connection:

John Hidle married Mary Blakely, daughter of Dionisious and Fanny Blakely, before 1810. The estate papers of Mary Blakely's father, Dionisious Blakeley, named legatees including John Hidle.

John Heidle and his family moved about 1824 from Edgefield County, South Carolina, to Monroe County, Georgia, where John Heidle and Elisha D. Britt lived side by side.
