Includes NotesNotes for Stephen John Stuckey:
Family history has noted that Dr. Stephen Stuckey was blind. Vonah Boudro, Stephen John's great granddaughter, notes in her article for the Love County, Oklahoma History book that Stephen John Stuckey was blind by 1860 but still practicing medicine. He would smell the medicine to determine what to give his patient and he rode horseback to treat his patients. Before his death in 1899, he delivered his two granddaughters, Winnie and Minnie in Marsden, Indian Territory, Oklahoma.

Stephen John's brother, John Mallard Stuckey was a member of the Masons and was injured during the Civil War. Dr. Stephen John Stuckey, and John's son, William Mallard Stuckey, were allowed to cross enemy lines under the Mason's distress flag and bring wounded John back home with them. (This shows how much power the Masons actually held during that time of our history.)
