Myrtle Oneeta Pruett (b. August 26, 1908, d. July 11, 1997)
Myrtle Oneeta Pruett (daughter of Francis Marion Pruett and Macy Bell Petree) was born August 26, 1908 in Mangum, Greer Co. Oklahoma, and died July 11, 1997 in Lefors, Gray Co. Texas. She married James Parker Smith on November 04, 1927 in Mangum, Greer Co. Oklahoma.
Notes for Myrtle Oneeta Pruett: Myrtle Oneeta Pruett was born at the farm home at Reed, Oklahoma in 1908. She was very close to, and only five months older than, her cousin Ammie Pruett (a first cousin, once removed, the daughter of Ozie Dean Pruett). They grew up together on farms that cornered and as childhood playmates attended the Reed School together.
Myrtle married Parker Smith in November 1927 in Mangum, Oklahoma. Myrtle and Parker farmed for some years and then Parker became a professional ginner. He was one of the best. Except for a short time at Butler, Oklahoma, they spent most of their years at Vinson, Reed, and Mangum. Their home was "Home" to a lot of their kin. Their three daughters moved away from Greer County after they grew up. The family home was located at 412 Maryland Street, Mangum, Oklahoma as of 1975.
Myrtle and Parker died within three days of eachother in July 1997 in Leflors, Gray Co. Texas.
