William Hoyt Pruett (b. November 15, 1917, d. May 18, 1990)
William Hoyt Pruett (son of Francis Marion Pruett and Macy Bell Petree) was born November 15, 1917 in Reed, Greer Co. Oklahoma, and died May 18, 1990 in Mangum, Greer Co. Oklahoma. He married Helen Louise Presley on June 21, 1941 in Mangum, Greer Co. Oklahoma.
Notes for William Hoyt Pruett: William Hoyt Pruett was born November 15, 1917 at the family farm near Reed, Oklahoma. Hoyt left Reed High School three credits before graduation to join the Army during World War II for 43 months. He spent 37 months of that time in the southwest Pacific.
In June 1941 Hoyt married Helen Louise Presley, daughter of Oscar Lee Presley. Their first baby was born and died on February 4, 1942 and was buried at Reed Cemetery. They had two more children, a son and daughter.
From 1946 to 1952 he farmed the old home place at Reed. He then took a job with Texaco Inc. with whom he was still employed as of 1975. While employed by Texaco Hoyt and Helen moved to Lefors, Texas for 12 years, Perryton, Texas for 7 1/2 years, and Big Springs, Texas as of 1975.
Hoyt Pruett died May 18, 1990 in Mangum, Oklahoma and was survived by his wife Helen.
