Notes for Robert Blakely Heidle: Robert Blakely Heidle does not appear in the Georgia Census in 1870 to 1900. He could have moved out of Georgia or died before 1870. He was about 15 years old when his father died in the Civil War and would have only been old enough to serve himself near the end of the war. No marriage record has been found for him in Monroe Co. or surrounding counties.
Joan Hidle located a Confederate record for a Robert Heidle, Private in Company C 37th Regiment Georgia Infantry. Handwritten slips show he was present January and February 1864, but never paid. Typed slips for May 9, June 9 and June 28, 1864 have stamped on them "No Signature." This may be Robert B. Heidle, son of Phillip Thurman Heidle, or possibly Robert C. Heidle (born about 1843) thought to be the illegitimate son of Frances Heidle.
