Dionicious P. Hidle (son of John Hidle and Mary Blakely) was born Abt. 1810 in Edgefield District, South Carolina, and died April 16, 1862 in Goldsboro, North Carolina. He married Nancy on Abt. 1828 in Georgia.

Dionicious Heidle, at about age 52, enlisted for service in the Confederate States Army for the Civil War on March 10, 1862 in Monroe Co. Georgia and served in Company B 45th Georgia Regiment. Dionicious Heidle, his son Sanford Heidle, and brother Phillip T. Heidle enlisted on the same day.

Dionicious Heidle, known as "Di", was killed April 16, 1861 at Goldsboro, North Carolina during the Civil War. Dionicious and his deceased brother Phillip T. Heidle (died August 29, 1862 at Manassas, VA) were brought back to Georgia for burial by Phillip's brother-in-law John Britt. The brothers were buried side-by-side near Jug Town, Upson County, Georgia or in Pike County.
