NOTE: At this time there is no proof that Martin Hidle/Heydel is the ancestor of John Hidle, from which this line descends.

MINUTES of Council (pages 11 & 12). In The Council Chamber, Saturday the 14th day February 1748/49. His Excellency, the Governor: The Honorable Edmund Atkin, John Cleland, Charles Pinckney, Edward Fenwick, Hector Boselger de Beaufain, Esq. The Petition of Mary Ann Seaman for 50 acres of Land free of Charge__? Bounty: The Petition of Mary Ann Seaman being presented to the Board. The same was ordered to be read which was accordingly done. Setting forth that the Petitioner came into the Country with Capt. Brown and has served her time with Leonard Miller in Charles Town was desirous of Settling with her Uncle SaxaGotha and humbly prayed his Excellency and their Honors order to the Surveyor General to run out to her Fifty Acres of Land opposite to SaxaGotha and to grant her the Bounty of Provision and she as in duty bound would pray ye the Truth of what is set forth in her said Petition the Prayer therof was granted and it was accordingly Ordered. That the Deputy Secretary prepare a Warrant to the Surveyor General for administering and laying out to the said Petitioner Fifty Acres Land opposite to SaxaGotha as prayed for and that the Commissary Genteral do pay the charges thereof and do also give the Petitioner the Bounty allowed by the Government to Foreign Protestants becoming new sisters (?) in the Township.

NOTE: Is this Martin Hidle (husband of Mary Ann Seaman) the same Martin Heydel who married Elsabetha Simons? Or are they father and son? If there are two Martin Hidle's there is not yet conclusive proof that they are related to eachother, nor is it known for sure if they are ancestors of John Hidle.
