I am researching the following families: Hamiliton Gaither Baker married Surilda J Bridges Nov 8,1849 in Martin co. Indiana. It has been indicated that Hamilton G. Baker was born in Kentucky or Campbell co. Tennessee. Hamilton served in the Union Army with Co. G., 97th Regiment of the Indiana Volunteers. He died at Ft. Pickering in Memphis Tennessee on Aug 17, 1863. I would like to know more about the battle(s)around Ft. Pickering and what Hamilton died from. We are also interested where he came from. I am looking for more information about the Mayfields from the Kentucky and Indiana. Jacob Mayfield was born Apr 11, 1842 in Jefferson County Kentucky. The Family has been noted in the area on both sides of the Ohio River around New Albany, Indiana and Louisville, Kentucky. Jacob married Mary Ann Budd who was born Jun 1, 1815 in Floyd county Indiana. Jacob & Mary had 11 children and was reported to have been a farmer and a minister of the christian church. |
