| The surnames I am currently researching include: May, Stepp, Starr, Morrison, Thompson, Crouch and Phelan. I also have connections to Johnson, Jones, Langston, Hogue, Watkins, Julian, Crozier, Barnes, Cordell, Sutton and Capel. These are on the backburner for now, as most are such common names that they have proven to be a formidable task. I have recently linked my May line to Reynolds V. May, the founder of Maysville AR. I would like to find out where he came from, as well as complete the descendants' branches. Also, I have recently discovered that my ggggrandfather William Henry Stepp was in the Union Army. All other relatives that I have found were confederate soldiers. I am actively trying to find William Henry's ancestors. I am particularly interested in any links to Native American heritage. My Thompson/Starr line is descended from Nancy Ward (the last Cherokee "Most Beloved Woman") and Moytoy, a great Cherokee chief. I have hints and suspicions that other branches of my history also link to the Cherokees, but I have not been able to confirm. As a side note, I am curious to locate Special Counsel Kenneth Starr's genealogy, since he bears a striking resemblance to my uncle (who shares my Starr lineage). I am willing to share the info I have gathered. Since I have traded files with several other people, I have a great deal of info that doesn't directly relate to me (siblings, in-laws, etc.).
