Henry Franklin Mays was my great grandfather. I never knew him and a couple of months ago I decided to find out more about my ancestors. Henry was born in South Carolina. His father was a farmer from Virginia. By 1870 the family had moved to Texas and were working in sawmills. Henry married Ida Streetman in 1894 and they had four children. The oldest son, Larkin, was my grandfather. |
