My family descends from Dean in Bedfordshire England in about 1780moving to Stepney in London in 1860 and then to the Wirral in Merseyside during World War Two, my mothers family are Hulatt descended from Bedfordshire in about 1780. I am searching for two lost brothers of my father and their families Charles Henry Mayes who died in Portsmouth in 1984 his daughter was Helen Cowell married in 1979 in S E Hants I believe he was in the navy an believe he may have married in Scotland. Albert Mayes who died in Ilminster in Somerset in 1997 who was survived by his widow Betty A Mayes nee Ellis they were married in 1963 in Chard Somerset. My maternal Grandmother was Elizabeth Pitts who had several siblings in the East End of London. I am interested in the Mayes and Hulatt families of Bedfordshire in particular the areas Dean, Ravensden, Thurleigh and Pavenham. All help gratefully recieved. |
