Hyman Madansky and his son Ben came to the United State in 1889 to lead the way for more of the family to join them from the Ukraine. They had worked in timber and liquor there. The town they were from was called Galena Gabernia they said, but we know that the word "gabernia" means "province" in Russian. So maybe the town was Denevits or Sedilkov. We need help identifying the town. We're not sure if the name was Madansky or Madanick then. We do know that Hyman's father was Moishe Madansky whose wife was Fannie. Hyman's wife was Hanah. Her father was Michael Michilzon whose wife was Naomi. Hyman's siblings were: Rona (m Louis Bernstein), Ichyl, Boris (m Bala Silverman), Tsupa (m Stuhl in Detroit)) and Ed Madansky (Baltimore) |
