Christian was involved in the Atlanta campaign of the war and also participated in the Battle of Corinth. He was the son of German immigrants and was born in Marion, OH area around 1840.

This is the paperwork from the Bureau of Pensions that Jesse McCracken filled out in 1898. I assume this was done to make sure my great great grandmother received the benefits after his death.

He was a Civil War veteran who was involved in Sherman's March to the Sea and received serious injuries in battle in NC. He was born in the Cadiz, OH area in 1846. He was quite an interesting character (please see the two biographical pages I have posted).
