* The McBeys of Boharm*

Updated November 13, 2011

I am currently researching my family tree and to date my research has shown that the branch of the family from which I originate, came from the Parish of Boharm, Banffshire.

Research has shown that the McBeys were farmers and farm servants on the Arndilly Estate which is situated next to the River Spey near Rothes.

The oldest generation I have found is my great great great grandfather George McBey who was born around 1781 at Boharm and who lived and farmed Blackpark, Boharm from around 1815 up until his death in 1853.

Over the years and in particular from 1900 onwards many of his descendants emigrated abroad and in particular to Canada, Australia and America. I have been in touch with many of these and will continue my research to find more generations of the McBeys.
