According to Melinda Dennis, Richardson, TX, both Elizabeth and John, along with five generations of this line, are buried in the Oakland Community Cemetery in Van Zandt Co., TX.

JOHN T. CURRY
Canton
Representative from the One Hundredth district, Van Zandt county, was born in Harrodsburg, Ky, October 28, 1837, at which place his parents located shortly after coming to America from England in 1835.
His father, Mr. John Currey, was a manufacturer of rope and bagging at Harrodsburg where he died in 1863; his mother, Mrs. Della Currey died at that place in 1866.
John T. Currey worked in his father's factory; married Miss Elizabeth McBrayer, in Anderson county, Ky., January 16, 1861, and began life on his own account as a farmer; merchandised at Danville, Ky., from 1865 to 1875, and since that time has been exclusively engaged in farming, first in Kentucky and later in Van Zandt county, Texas, to which county he moved in 1879.
Eight children have been born to him, six of whom are now living and reside in Van Zandt county.
Mr. Currey is a member of the M.E. Church, South, and Masonic fraternity.
He has attended various local and state Democratic conventions and has canvassed his district and delivered speeches in adjoining counties in the interest of Democracy on many occasions.
He was elected from Van Zandt county (then the Eighth district) to ao and served in the House of the Twentieth, Twenty-second and Twenty-third Legislatures and in 1896 was elected to his present seat in the Twenty fifth Legislature. The state having been redistricted, Van Zandt county is now the One Hundredth Representative district.
He is Chairman of the Committee on Revenue and Taxation and a member of the following committees:
Internal Improvements, Finance, Roads, Bridges and Ferries and Irrigation.
He believes in as economical an administration of the state government as is consistent with the efficiency of the public service; the establishment of state banks on a specie redemption basis, and the passage of laws to more thotoughly equip the public schools with charts, maps, globes, and other apparatus needed in imparting instruction.
