He married MARGARET MCBRAYER August 04, 1829 in (Marriage Bond), Rutherford Co., NC, daughter of DAVID MCBRAYER and DELILA WEBB. She was born December 17, 1809 in Rutherford Co., NC, and died September 1869 in Gordon Co., Georgia.

      KNOW ALL MEN BY THE PRESENTS, that we, REUBEN HILL, JR., and ASAPH HILL, in the state aforesaid, are held and firmly bound unto the Governor of the State of North Carolina for the time being, in the just and full sum of five hundred pounds, current money of the State, to be paid to the said Governor, or his successor or assigns; To them which payment well and truly to be made and done, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators. Sealed with our seals and dated this 4th day of August, Anno Domini 1829.

      THE CONDITION OF THE ABOVE OBLIGATION IS SUCH, that whereas the above bounden, REUBEN HILL has made application for a License for a marriage to be celebrated between him and MARGARET MCBRAYER of the county aforesaid: Now in case it shall not appear hereafter that there is any lawful cause to obstruct the said marriage, then the above obligation to be void - otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.

      (ed. note: Alfred Webb married Arabella Hill, sister to Reuben Hill, Jr. Asaph Hill was the brother to Reuben - see sketch # 421- William. The Hill family and the McBrayers of Rutherford Co., NC, were very close, as through the generations we find many families in both lines who have named their children for members of the other line. There have been several Reuben Hill McBrayers who have descended from the David who married Delila Webb.)
