I am the MacBraire (McBrayer) Family Historian and Archivist. I have been researching and compiling lineage information, documents, and photos on all McBrayer, McBrair, McBriar, McBrier, McBreyer, Brier, Briar, Bryar and any associated surname for almost 30 years. At the present the family files contain over 58,000 names, most of which are the direct descendents of the three McBrayer brothers, William, James & David, who settled in Pennsylvania in about 1735. The descendents of David changed the surname in ca 1818 to Brier, Briar, Bryar - to which carries today.

The files I am posting are for the enjoyment and research of all. HOWEVER, THESE FILES ARE NOT TO BE USED BY ANYONE FOR ANY MONITARY GAIN OR FOR ANY PURPOSE OTHER THAN INDIVIDUAL USE, WITHOUT THE EXPRESS, WRITTEN PERMISSION OF MYSELF. DOING SO CONSTITUTES COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT AND IS PUNISHABLE BY LAW. (Identification Codes have been embedded within the files for security measures.)

If you wish to share information that is not included herein it will be greatly appreciated, just send it to the e-mail address of carl5@cox.net, and, if anyone desires information on your individual line that is not included here, I will be happy to share with you via e-mail or by snail mail if accompanied by SASE.

Also be aware that the Macbraire Family Association has a family newsletter - IN DEFIANCE - which is published 4 times a year. I began publication of this newsletter in June of 1979. To join the family association or to obtain information on the association and the newsletter, contact Robert L. McBrayer at RMcBrayer@metroshores.net.

Enjoy and Happy hunting!
