Gilbert McBain Family - goes from Scotland where my g-g-g-grandfather was born - to Carroll county Ohio - where he and
his wife Agnes (Nancy) Walters McBain raised there family of
eleven children. I have recently learned that Gilbert and Nancy
(as she was called by everyone) owned land in Carroll county,
section two (2), of township 13, and range four (4). The land was sold on June 11, 1864 because of a lawsuit by B.P. Allman who
was the guardian of Gilbert McBain Jr, and he wanted to settle
the estate because Gilbert Jr. had volunteered in for the Civil
War. These documents were received from Jean Scarlott of the
Caroll county Genealogy Society.

In 1854 Gibert did travel to Wisconsin to buy 480 acres of land
in Bloom township, Richland county, WI to move his family here.
He did return to Ohio in 1854 and died there in October. He
is buried in Brush Creek Cemetery with his children Catherine and
William.

I am still searching for McBain's or McBane's related to Gilbert
from Scotland, or Ohio, and anyone related to Agnes (Nancy)
Walters who was born in the state of PA. Her father may have
been born in eitgher PA or MD.

The Paulson - Thompson are my mother Julia Paulson McBain,
who were all from Norway, and settled in Jackson county, Black
Rivers Falls, Wi. Also included are the Walling family from
Plymouth Colony, the Jones family from Wales or Ireland, and
the Villard / Willard family from Switzerland.

Please e-mail if you feel there are any errors, I would greatly
appreaciate it.
