Alexander Addison FLORENCE born ca 1859 in Alabama. I have not been able to find him on the 1860 or 1870 census but is on the 1880 Cass Co, TX census. He married Mary Lee O'REAR in Cass Co, TX. dau of Washington OREAR and Mary RUTLEDGE. I believe Alexander's parents are Thomas and Mary CAVER FLORENCE - no proof. Alexander and Mary had three children that lived to adulthood. 1. Zannie mar Lillie ROWE lived in Vivian, LA and raised 12 children there. Corry,Minnie,Annie,Thomas,Virginia,Ira,Elsie, Walter "Birdie",James "Weasie",Henry (my father),Lettell and Tenceree. Henry mar Clara SCOTT in 1942. She was the daughter of Robert E. Lee SCOTT and Maggie Ella McWILLIAMS. 2. Ludie mar Luke GILBERT and had one daughter Mabel - nothing is known of Mabel. 3. Minnie Seola mar James HARDIN and raised seven children. He married Mordie/Maud Grizella Tompkins born May 3 1869 in Utica, Hinds Co, MS on July 3, 1887. Their children where: 1. Thomas Harrison Scott born Sept 29 1888 married Mary Louise Herren 2. Katie born Jan 16, 1891 married Thomas Franklin Mitcham. 3. Sarah Ann "Sallie" born Nov 28, 1892 4. Robert E. Lee born Aug 30, 1895 Utica,Hinds Co, MS. Married Maggie Ella McWilliams. 5. Johnnie Homer born Dec 5, 1897 married Lillian Mary Hill. 6. Not sure but believe Charlie is the baby in the back. Thomas Harmon Rowe, Elzenia Annie Frizell (97 KB) Thomas and Elzenia are Lillie Belle Rowe Florence's parents. Thomas born 1850, Elzenia born 1848. Both died Feb 2, 1909 when Elzenia had heart attack and Thomas ran for help. Henry,Lettell,Birdie,Virginia,James Florence (88 KB) This picture was takened March 1969 after the funeral of Zannie Florence. This is all of the living siblings at that time. Zannie Florence (81 KB) Zannie Florence as a young man. Zannie,Henry,Richard,Randy Florence (41 KB) 4 generations of Florences. Zannie, Henry, Richard and Randy taken in Kimball, Nebraska Wesley Cook (90 KB) Wesley Cook was Mary Lee Orear Florence's great grandfather. He was born 1803 and died 1880 in Cass Co.TX. Clara is pregnant with Jimmie taken ca 1951.
