Grandpa "Mac" or Dad came to the US from Scotland. Thomas Patrick McColl was born in Reton, Dumbartonshire, Scotland, and Mr. McColl resided in Troy area since 1945. He had worked as a consulting engineer for many national and international firms at one time. While in Troy he was owner and operator of Hammett Machine before retiring.
Mr. McColl was a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and was a communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church.
His wife, Rose Sulzman McColl, died in 1989.
Survivors include four daughters, Rosellen Wimsatt of Bowie, Md., Maura Stockey of Chino, Calif., Eileen Hart of Morro Bay, Calif., and Kathleen Bibb of Charleston, S.C., four sons, Merrill McColl of Ballston Lake; Hugh McColl of Burnsville, Minn. Frank McColl of Clifton Park, and John McColl of Charleston, S.C.; two sisters, Rose Moore of Huddersfield, England; and Mary Malley of San Jose, Calif.; 25 grandchildren; and 12great-grandchildren.
Thomas Patrick McColl 89, of Van Rensselaer Manor, died yesterday at St Mary’s Hospital in Troy, NY after a long illness. Burial is in St. Agnes Cemetery in Cohoes.
