Born January 26th, 1908, in Waterford, N.Y. he was son of the late Dr. Frank M. Sulzman and Helen Daley Sulzman. Dr. Sulzman was a graduate of LaSalle Institute, Manhattan College and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University. He did his residencies in ophthalmology and otolaryngology in the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.
Dr. Sulzman was a member of the medical staffs of St. Mary's Hospital in Troy, Cohoes Memorial Hospital, Putnam Memorial Hospital in Bennington, Vt., Glens Falls Hospital and the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.
He served as a lieutenant commander in the U.S. Navy Medical Corps during World War II. In 1945, Dr. Sulzman was awarded a citation by Admiral F. W. Rockwell for outstanding service to the Atlantic Fleet Amphibious Training Command in original research developing training in night vision.
He was a diplomat for the American Board of Ophthalmology and the American Board of Otolaryngology. He was a fellow in the American College of Surgeons, a past president of the staff at St. Mary's Hospital, chief of ophthalmology at St. Mary's Hospital and Cohoes Memorial, and a member of the State Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Sulzman also was a charter member of Troy Country Club and a former member of the Van Schaick Island Country Club.
He retired from practice in 1970.
