TROY - Martha C. Bayly, of Troy, wife of the late Richard Y. Bayly II, died Wednesday, August 1, 2001 at St. Mary's Hospital following a long illness.
Born in Troy, the former Martha Coffey was a daughter of the late State Supreme Court Justice James V. Coffey and the late Helen Scallen Coffey.
Mrs. Bayly was a graduate of the Academy of the Holy Names in Albany and the Kathleen Dell School in Brookline, MA. She also attended Russell Sage College in Troy.
Mrs. Bayly had been employed at the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, the New York State Department of Commerce and the Rensselaer County Department of Social Services.
She was a former member of the Ilium Literary Club, the Troy Country Club and the Troy Club. Mrs. Bayly was also active in the Troy Council of Parent-Teacher Associations, the School 16 PTA and Troy High School PTA. She was a former member of the Altar-Rosary Society of Sacred Heart Church in Troy.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Ann Bayly of Troy; two sisters, Mrs. John H. Sulzman and Mrs. Stanley E. Trimble, also of Troy, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was a sister of the late Eugene V. Coffey, James V. Coffey, Jr., Mrs. Powers Clinton and Mrs. Luke J. Cavanagh.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10:30 a.m. from Sacred Heart Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy.
There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Colman's Home, Boght Road, Watervliet, NY 12189.
Arrangements are by the Stanton-Farrell Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Columbia St., Cohoes, NY 12047.
