I started researching the McClelland family tree in 1979. That research branched out into Ferguson, McNeill, Walburn and Rideout. The majority of information on our other families - Lowe, Wallace, Jones, Condie - was given given to me by other members of my family. Much of the Gilhuly and Slee info has been supplied by other members of those families. Our branch of the Wallace family has been traced back to c. 1700, to Robert Wallace and Jean Houie, without any gaps in the chain. From there our records are unclear, but indicate that "Braveheart", Sir William Wallace, is an ancestor. Most other family branches are traced back at least to c. 1850's, some to the early 1800's. With all the census and vital statistics data that became available on-line in 2003-04, I've been able to add to many of the family branches, in particular the Vasey, Gilhuly, Walburn and Condie families. It's so exciting to make new discoveries, especially where the trails and connections had disappeared.... In 2005, I made even more connections and found a new cousin with a wealth of information; some confirming what we think we know, and some changing it. Stay tuned. There are some obvious details missing which you'll see as you browse through. I must tell you that you cannot take everything in the Genealolgy.com trees as gospel. For example - you may have a couple listed in your tree as 'friends'. When that information makes it on-line, they are married. It's magic! In the meantime - Please share if you have details that I'm missing - you water my tree, I'll water yours!
