Declaration of Intention form that was filled out by Kasmir looks like it is spelled Karmist.Theform for the Petition For Naturalization which was typed spells his name Kasmir. His signature on this form looks like a combination on the two spellings without the t.The 1920 Cenus records have it as Kasmir which was filled out by cenus taker.His Death Certificate spells it Casmir which was written in by his son, Anthony Gucwa. This was verified by Anthony Gucwa.Living relatives thought the spelling was Casmir. The rest of the information was given by son, Benjamin according to the Death Certificate.
Passenger list states place of residence as Ropa, Poland. Ropa was a village, in the old province of Nowy Sacz, polish spelling :nowosadeskie. The new province is now called Malopolskie which means Little Poland. Ropa falls under the administrative district Gorlice or Gorlitz. The province of malopolskie is a part of Galicia which is apparently a region of Poland.
Kasmir and Pauline had a summer home in Huntington, Long Island.
