but there is a published record of an Alexander McCoy estate, George McCoy
executor, on Adams Co. OH docket 12aug1841 (volume now lost???).

for "Alexander Cay?" and Hannah McCollough, performed by William Duke,
minister -- he was follower of Francis Ashbury & minister at Elkton.

This would account for parentage of Alexander McCoy b. 1847, the date of
same, and the fact that he is being cared for by Minerva Wheeler Draper 1850.

this is the Alexander found living with A. D. Draper and Minerva Wheeler
Draper in 1850 census of Brown Co., IL (#600). There is also a Sidney
McCoy b. 1849 IL, of whom no further record.

This is believed to be the "Alexander McCoy, Jr." who died intestate in
Brown Co., IL in 1866. Hiers-at-law are easily explained IF he is the son
of George and Nancy Wheeler McCoy, both deceased at that time.

a courthouse fire. Emily Hemphill is likely related to Rachel Hemphill who

the birthdates of the first 7 children listed in the 1850 census, they are
assumed to belong to his first wife, Emily Hemphill.

Cos., IL indicates they settled in Shelby Co., IL in 1864. She is mentioned
in a Brown Co., IL deed on 09apr1862.

the same James McCoy who is listed as son of Alexander McCoy Jr. in 1850
(age 8) and 1860 (age 20) censuses.
