1. From IGI data, it appears that data for birth and death dates of William and Sarah, and for her maiden name, come from cemetery records in North Buffalo Tp., Armstrong Co., PA.
2. Will of William Barnett Sr. dated 10jul1838, registered 13sep1838, Armstrong Armstrong Co. PA, vol. 1, p. 198, case #462. Land in North Buffalo Tp. next to Joseph Barnett's tract bequeathed to widow Sarah, then to son John.
3. Living in John Barnett household in 1860 census, Armstrong Co., PA, p. 175, #1180. Also in same household in 1850, along with her mother. Birthdate from IGI, like from a cemetery record.

10. Armstrong Co. PA 1850 p 95 #749 shows Joseph b. 1810 PA, Mary A. b. 1818 PA, 1860 p 160 (442 pencilled) #160 shows Joseph b. 1810 PA, Mary Ann b. 1817 PA, but 1880 shows Joseph b. 1802 PA, Mary C. b. 1818 DE.
11. last record is a deed wherein he sells land to daughter Mattie in return for subsistence for life.

13. was living in Ft. Madison, IA in 1936 when his sister Mattie Barnett Baird died. First record there that I have found so far is 1900 census, ED 72, p. 19, line 46.
14. Per 1900 census. 1850 census (Allegheny Co., Pittsburgh, 5th Ward, p. 182B) shows 1811, and 1860 census (Birmingham Borough, p. 25) shows 1813. 1860 includes a Mary J. Barnett age 18, listed after Mahala's mother.
15. In 1856 deed recorded in Jefferson Co., PA, his residence is listed as Birmingham, Allegheny Co., PA, and his wife's name as Mahala G. Located in city directories 1862-1899, and in 1900 census.
16. 1860 census says b. Ire., but 1850 says PA. The latter is much more likely, as his sister Anne is listed as b. PA on both censuses (same household). Confusion perhaps caused by mother-in-law Ann Colwell b. Ire.
17. Armstrong Democrat, Thursday, 15 mar 1838, on "thursday last", John Barnett to Miss Matilda daughter of William Colwell of Buffalo Tp., by Rev. John Dickey. IGI has date as 15 mar 1838, the date of the newspaper issue.

20. William H. Barnett may be son of Joseph by an unknown wife, as there is a gap of 11 years before the next child, and no intervening children in the 1850 census. 1850 shows age 7, but 1860 shows age 20.

28. Name is listed as Abraham G. Barnett in 1850 census, but Abram in 1860 census and in city directories. Likely name indicates grandfather was Abram Goressen. Birthdate from 1900 census.
29. 1900 census indicates married 20 years. Not yet located in 1880 census. They had no children, according to 1900 census.
30. Census taker listed exact birthdates in 1900 census, ED 269, sheet 3, line 22. Listed as father-in-law of William J. Norwood.
31. 1900 census shows married 31 years.
32. according to 1900 census. Living then at 2614 Bedford Ave., Pittsburgh (ED 157, Sheet 3, line 39).
33. 1880 census, Allegheny Co., ED 127, sheet 26, l. 47, "Cornieales Barnett" -- assumed to be the same person listed in 1850 as son of Robert Barnett, even though the birthdate is here listed as 1852.
34. Son Andrew M. Rowley was born in December 1888, and son Lawrence G. Barnett was born in January 1892. However, the latter is listed out of order on the census, could belong elsewhere though still listed as "son".
