Margaretha Margaret Abel (daughter of Henry* Abel and Anna Elisabeth) was born June 14, 1827 in Heringen, Bavaria, Germany, and died January 05, 1892 in franklin, Lee Co, Iowa. She married Casper Fett on May 20, 1847 in Lee County, Iowa, son of John August Fett and Anne Elizabeth Lapp.

Notes for Margaretha Margaret Abel: OBITUARY MARGARETHA (MARGARET) ABEL FETT......Fort Madison Weekly Democrat MRS. MARGARET ABEL FETT, death has blown its cold breath upon another aged pioneer and she sleeps. Mrs. M. Fett in West Point township, Tuesday Morning Jan 5, 1892. Deceased was born in Bavaria Germany in 1827. In 1833 she sailed to America settling in Canton, Ohio with her parents. There she remained until 1836 when she came west crossing the Mississippi near Altee's Mill in Fort Madison on a large ferry. Then settling in West Point township, which like the rest of the county, was frequented by Indians- The Black Hawk Tribes. Here the family lived for 10 years when the subject of the sketch was married to Casper Fett. The two rejoiced in a happy and joyful life for nearly a half a century. Ten children had blessed their union- eight sons and two daughters. One son died in his early years. 7 sons and 2 daughters and a husband, now sick, are left to mourn their loss. Influenza, the prevalent epidermic with the old, caused the death. The remains were interred in the Presbyterian cemetery near Franklin. The Rev. Rose now officiating. Mrs. Fett possessed many good friends.
