It's curious that Richard JEWELL was named as the father of the family. Available records indicate that William JEWELL was the father.  Of course there is the baptism record in Hartford Co., MD where Richard and Elizabeth JEWELL baptized their 6 children on 30 Dec. 1795. Their son William JEWELL was born 23 Oct. 1792 - G. R. Tafini, 1998

  Notes for Lawrence Jewell:
MISC:
--------
The only reference to Lawrence JEWELL was supplied by Jean (THOMPSON) BUTLER
from Lucinda (WRIGHT) DAUGHTY's papers.  His age is estimated from his
position in the family and age categories in the 1840 Census listing of
William JEWELL.   He probably died young, before 1850.
