Obituary: Paul J. Dugan- IOWA
Paul J. Dugan, 75, of Sioux City died Sunday, March 16, 1997, at the Casa De Paz.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Rev. James Bruch officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. today at Berkemier Funeral Home and resume at 6:30 p.m. today, with a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at the church.
Mr. Dugan was born April 13, 1921, in Pittsburg, Pa., the son of James and Theresa (Heyl) Dugan. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in Pittsburg.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
He married Helen Weddle on Oct. 14, 1944, in Sioux City. The couple made their home in Sioux City. She died June 14, 1984.
He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement in 1978. The couple operated the Bennett's Motel for 10 years.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the National Letter Carriers Association. Survivors include a brother, James Dugan of Pittsburg, Pa.; a sister, Tess Hanley of Stanton, Ohio; two nieces and two nephews, whom they raised, Sheryl Livingston of Elk Point, S.D., Rebecca Kayl of South Sioux City, Mike Wanzer of Sioux City and David Wanzer of Norfolk, Va.; and many other nieces and nephews.
