Patrick Fahey (b. 1845, d. 1916)

Patrick Fahey was born 1845 in Ireland³⁵, and died 1916^{36, 37}. He married Jane ? on Bef. 1864 in Ireland.

Notes for Patrick Fahey:
On 9/23/1868 Patrick Fahey under oath before the Prothonotary of the Court of Common Pleas of ELK COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA stated the following:
1) he is an alien, a native of Ireland and was born in the year 1840 and is 28 years of age;
2] that he migrated from Queenstown, Ireland [ now known as Cobh, in Cork County, Ireland]
to New York on or about June of 1862; [see notes below for conflicting info]

Note:
However, there's a document of record that states he came into NY on 2/16/1864 [this was
his citizenship declaration document; same document states on 11/7/1871 he had lived for last 5 yrs in
US and during that 5 yr at least 1 of which was in PA; that being the case he at the very least
came to US in 1866. His witness was a Daniel McCarthy. (Daniel McCarthy also was baptismal sponsor for Mary Fahey born & baptised on 10/05/1868.)
It should be noted, however, that the 1900 US census indicates Patrick's daughter Bridget, was born 11/1866 in Pa; so they came, by calcualation, before 11/1866; but the 1880 Cenus of US indicates Bridget was born in Ireland and Michale was born in Ireland also so that could mean Patrick and family may not have come until after November 1866 but before September 23, 1868 when he signed his Petition of Intent.
Even if Bridget had been born in US in 1866 that would mean they came during the year of 1864, after the son was born in Ireland; in any case it is doubtful he came in 1862 due to the fact they were poor people and probably without means to travel back and forth across the Atlantic.
