Notes for Albert J. Thomas: Obituary: Niagara Gazette, Monday 2/10/2003: "Albert J. Thomas, 76, of Youngstown, NY, died Friday, February 7, 2003 in teh Roswell Park Institute, after a long illness. He was a native of Niagara Fallos, New Yor, born on May 17, 1926, the son of Walter L. and Sara (Sadie Norris) Thomas, and attended the Trott Vocational High School. He served with teh Merchang Marines from 1943 to 1947. Mr. Thomas was employed as a Journeyman mechanic for the New York State Power Authority from 1961 to 1975, retiring due to disability. He was a former memver of Sacred Heart Church and teh Knights of Columbus. He had resided in Youngstown, NY since 1995. Surviving is his wife of 53 years, the former Edith Fyufe; four daughters, Kathleen (William) Williams of Niagara, NY; Janet (Robert) Huryn of Issaquah, Washington; Donna (John) Palmero of Youngstown, NY and Sandra (Douglas) Wisnieski of Tonawanda, NY; two sons, Michae (kim) Thomas of Tallahassee, Fl; Richard (Kathy) Thomas of MIddleport, NY; 13 Grandchildren, one great grand-daughter; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and grand nephews. He was the grandfather of the late Christopher Thomas; and brother of the late Walter, George, John, David and William Thomas, Pattricia Ames, Ruth St. Onge and Mary Gilpatrick. The family will be present at the Rhoney Fumeral Home, ayuga and So. Ninth Streets, Lewiston, NY from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Monday. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 27th and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. Burial will be in Oakland Rural Cemetery at the convenience of thge family. Inlieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation; American Cancer Society or Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church Restoration Fund.
