1. EDWARD PATRICK² MCCORMICK (PATRICK¹) was born March 24, 1834 in CO. ROSCOMMON, IRELAND, and died April 21, 1912 in BISMARK, ND. He married ANNA MCDONALD January 11, 1864 in EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND, daughter of PATRICK MCDONALD and HELEN MCDONALD.

They are both buried in St. Mary's Cemm. in Bismark, ND. After removing to Scotland from Ireland he married Anna in the Chapel Cowgate Edinburgh, Scotland on 11 Jan. 1864 (Catholic Church), he was 24 and Anna wa 19, their home was at No. 34 Cowgate Close. Patrick was a mason's labourer in Edinburgh. In 1867 Edward and his brother Patrick removed to America to find a better life, they first went to St. Louis, MO. Partick and his wife Ann stayed and settled in St. Louis. Edward (he left his wife Anna and his two children in Scotland) got a job with the Northern Pacific Railroad and ended up in Bismark, Dakota Tr. By1872 he saved money to send for his wife and two sons Edward and Partick. Anna had been selling crystalware door-to door in Edinburgh to make money. After she arived in Bismark in 1873 they had eight more children. IN 1885 the homestaded 160 acres, NE of Bismark, the sold this land in1900 $2,000. They also had a home in Bismark at the SE cor. of Front St. and 4th St. He sold this home to the Power Co. for a plant site, he the lived with his son-in-law William Jager. The 1879 City Dir. shows Edward as a night-watchman for the reairoad, in 1884 he was a car-repairman, 1909 was a signalman, and in 1910 he was retired. His children James, Francis, Mary, Thomas and Rose are buried in St. Mary's Cemm. in Bismark, His son Edward removed to Mexico, and son Patrick drowned in the Mo. River while watering cows, his body never found
