2. ADAM² HALL (WILLIAM¹) was born July 27, 1803 in Bowden, Roxburgh, Scotland, and died 1881 in Smith, Peterborough, Ontario. He married CATHARINE JEFFERY 1832. She died 1882.

Adam Hall came to Canada in 1827 with his parents, four brothers and three sisters. They settled on Lot number 20 in the fourth concession of Smith, Ontario, Canada. He, his father and brothers were stone masons and were engaged in building for several years. His wife, Catharine Jeffery, died in 1881at 75 years of age. He died in 1881 at the age of 77 years of age. He and Catharine had nine children; five sons and four daughters. Three of their sons were farmers and two were merchants. He was a reformer in politics.

3. JOHN HALL² SR. (WILLIAM¹ HALL) was born 1807 in Bowden, Roxburgh, Scotland, and died March 20, 1896 in Douro Township, Peterborough, Ontario. He married ISABELLA JOHNSTON, daughter of ALEXANDER JOHNSTONE. She was born in Scotland, and died 1875 in Smith, Ontario, Canada.

John built his home on the west end of Lot 19. He, like his father and brothers, was a stonemason. He had three sons and four daughters. In religion, he was a Presbyterian and in politics he was a reformer.
