Seeking information on the children of Peter MCDONALD (1830-1860) and Elizabeth MCDONALD (1821-1870?). Children: Mary Jane, Sarah Ann, Darthula Ann, Nancy Q. (m William Alfred FOSTER, lived in Eastland Co. TX in 1910), Mariah, William, & Martha E. Even though I found Nancy, I don't know when she died and where she is buried. The rest of the children I cannot find at all on the censuses. I found wills for both parents in Fannin County, and that is how I found out Nancy had married. Any help or advice on how to find orphaned children appreciated.

Also interested in Abner N. LOYD and his 2nd wife, Mary MCDONALD LOYD. They were living in Fisher County, Texas in 1880 and by 1900 Mary was a widow living in Stonewall County, Texas. She was last known to live in Dickens County, Texas in 1910. I would like to know more about her. Here is what I know about Mary MCDONALD LOYD:

1854 - married John W. MCDONALD in Fannin County, TX (her maiden name was also "MCDONALD").

1860 - living in Fannin County, TX with husband John W. MCDONALD, two children and a elderly widow named "M. MCDONALD".

1870 - living in Fannin County with Abner N. LOYD. Mary is 2nd wife.

1880 - Abner, Mary and kids from both marriages living in Fisher County, TX.

1900 - Mary is a widow now, living in Stonewall County, TX.

1910 - Mary is a widow now, living in Dickens County, TX.

Any information on this family appreciated. See more page links at the bottom of this page.

My great-great grandparents were Wilson MCDONALD and Amanda McCarley. They lived in Fannin County, TX in 1860 and later moved to Collin County by 1870. Wilson died in 1877 and Amanda died in 1914. I am not sure of Wilson's parents' names, but he is connected with most of the MCDONALD families in Fannin County, TEXAS, especially Middleton M. MCDONALD, Henry MCDONALD and Peter MCDONALD. Henry and Middleton MCDONALD settled in Fannin county, Texas by 1853. Family relatives claim that Wilson MCDONALD's father 1st name was Alexander MCDONALD, but I cannot find such a name associated with any of the other MCDONALD's I am researching. I suspect that Mary MCDONALD LOYD is my Wilson MCDONALD's sister.

Thanks for checking in!!! :-)
