DEATH CLAIMS WILLIAM F. LOEW
Well Known Jeweler and Optician Passes Away at His Home on Arlington Street, Following Year's Illness.

MEMBER NUMEROUS LODGES

William F. Loew, aged 56 years, well known jeweler and optician, died at 11:00 o'clock last evening in his home at 518 Arlington street, following an illness from complications of more than a year's duration, several months of which he was bedfast.

Deceased was associated with his brother Frank Loew in the jewelry business here for upwards of thirty years and until four years ago, when the latter disposed of his interests in the business to William.

He was a member of the St. John's Lutheran church, and the treasurer of the Sunday school connected with that congregation for thirty years, succeeding his father, the Frederick A. Loew, who had served in a similar capacity for a like term of thirty years.

LODGE AFFILIATIONS
Fraternally, he was affiliated with a number of lodgess, among which are the Moose, of which was the Dictator; Rod and Gun Club, of w3hich he was the secretary; Royal Arcanum, serving as collector; Red Men, Chief of Records; Mannerchor, trustee; P.O.S.of A. in which he served at the age of 21 years, as Past District President for Schuylkill county; Free and Accepted Masons, Lodge No. 238; Williamsport Consistory Ancient and Accepted Rite 32nd Degree; Reading Shrine; Elks and Antler, the latter an advanced Elks degree; Haymaker's Association; East End Fire Co.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lottie L. (Hummel) Loew, four sons and a daughter, Edgar W. Randall, Herbert, William and Amelia, and by his mother, Mrs. F. A. Loew, all of town. Three borthers and two sisters also survive. These are Frank, of Philadelphi, Edward, Oscar and Mrs. William Springer of town, and Mrs. George McElwee of Reading, as do six grandchildren.
