* "The McDermotts of the Valley - Ireland to Eganville, Ont.*

Updated September 5, 2000

I am just starting out and have over 300 names in my tree.

John W. McDermott and Ann Conway came from Ireland, where exactly?, They came over in 1847, moved from Pakenham, Ontario to Eganville, Ontario(1852) and became a tinsmith. Their children were James(1840) & Mary Irwin. James 1st marriage to Margaret Catherine George(1869)-had William, John Wayne, and Mary Irwin, and 2nd marriage to Annie Rogers(1874?)-had James "Phipps", Stella, George Irvine, Margaret Mary, Elizabeth A., Ann, & Leonard (gggrandpa) all born in Eganville (I believe)

Any help with the lineage from here back into Ireland would be greatly appreciated. I am willing to share what I have in greater detail.
