This family originated from Sir Thomas Kinne b 1578 in Kings Lynn, Norfolk, England. You will notice the spelling has changed over the years assumably beause of religious persecution. Sir Thomas first came to this country with his family and settled in Salem, MA. John Keney was on the rolls of the Salem Church 12/26/1672. The family migrated to CT, PA, OH, MI and west.
My lineage is as follows: JOHN KENEY b 1600 m SARAH CHEEVER; ALEXANDER KENEY b 1625-1634 m ALICE COLFAX (COLLOX); EBENZER KEENEY b 1672 m MARY COLT; JOHN KEENEY b 1712 m SARAH WEBSTER; MARK KEENEY b 1740 m ABIGAIL BEEMAN; THOMAS KEENEY b 4/12/1772 m HANNAH SOULE; CYRUS KEENEY b 10/19/1798 m MARGARET NORTHRUP; HARVEY KEENEY b 11/19/1825 m MARTHA MARIA BRAINARD; and ALTON HARVEY KEENEY b 6/8/1869 m JEANETTA LENORE DEWEY, my great-grandparents.

I am also working on the geneology of the following families: DEWEY, HAGER, LOOOMIS, LONG, McDANIEL and O'NEILL. My passions are to find information regarding HANNAH SOULE b 7/14/1768 in Dutchess County, NY and confirm the link between JOHN KENEY AND MARK KEENEY to prove they are father and son.
