J. McDougald) is really not understood. It could be Saryann meaning possible Sara Ann or possibly Suzanne. It is believed that this Bible belonged to Alexander McDougald and that it was passed down to his oldest living son, David Holloman McDougald. However David died exactly one week after Alexander during some epidemic. So it is thought that David's wife must have had possession of it and passed it down to one of their children, possibly Charles Campbell McDougald since the Bible is currently possessed by one of his descendants, Ed King. Also there is a daughter of Alexander who is not listed in the Bible records. She is believed to be the oldest child of Alexander by another marriage. Her name was Mary Ann McDougald born December 24, 1822 in Washington County, Georgia and died in Gadsden County, Florida. She was married to John G. Smith January 28, 1849 at the Presbyterian Church in Quincy, Gadsden County, Florida.
