Civil War: According to Green's pension papers dated July 17, 1903 in Gadsden County, Florida, he enlisted on or about the 1st. day of March 1862 in Captain S. B. Love's Company, in Gadsden County, Florida. While in actual service in said company 6th. Florida Regiment, of the State of Florida and in line of duty as such soldier, at Greensboro, State of North Carolina on or about the 26th. day of April 1865, and was honorably discharged at the expiration of the War between the States of the United States.
William Green Johnson was a Mason. He was a member of the Concordia Lodge No. 28, Concord, Gadsden County, Florida.
