The McDonalds of Indiana and South Carolina
I have researched the McDonalds from South Carolina to Indiana and now I reside in Virginia. The earliest I have found is a Hugh McDonald in Chester Disrict, SC in the 1700's, but his son, William is listed in one source as being from Washington, VA. I found another source that told about two McDonald brothers who left Virginia for South Carolina, where one of the brothers and his family were captured by Indians. The parents were killed, but the children were rescued and raised by the surviving brother. I now live about 35 miles from Washington, VA so have completed the circle if the earlier VA story is correct. I am interested in finding any confirmation or expansion of this story. |
