The Longmire family has been well documented from William Longmire that came to Virginia from England and died in 1749 in Virginia. His grandson, Elijah, married Mary "Polly" Moss and moved to Tennessee. Other family lines include the Yadon family of Grainger (now Union) County, Tennessee. The Adkins, Foster, Irwin, Sharp, Butcher, Fox, Hibbs families of East Tennessee are all represented. Also represented are families of "Old Virginia" including: Bland, Randolph, Tyler, Madison, Woodson, Payne, Worsham, Archer, Hudgins, and just about any of the well documented families of Virginia.

Daniel Sheffey, a lawyer of Albemarle County, VA who married Maria Hanson of Maryland and had five daughters is of particular interest. The family of Dr. Edwin Armistead Morrison of Brunswick County, Virginia is also represented.

The McDaniel line comes from Cyrus McDaniel who was married to Lucinda McCarty and is listed in the 1860 census for Jasper County, Mississippi. Cyrus's son Daniel Price McDaniel married Saffronia Elizabeth Maxey in 1888 and moved to Union Parish, Louisiana. Other Union Parish families include the Wilhite, Henry, Hight, Feazel, Honeycutt, McCrary, and Tidwell. The "Robert Richardson-Emily Katherine Hattaway" family of Ouchita Parish, Louisiana is one that has been especially difficult to trace.
