This page is dedicated to the ancestors and decendants of the McDonald Family. As of now, our history begins with a woman by the name of America. America was born in 1850, lived in Perry County, Mississippi and married Alexander Carter sometime in 1865. It is very likely that from her birth in 1850 until the freeing of the slaves in 1865, that America was the slave of Hugh McDonald. In August 1865, America gave birth to her only child, Aaron. Aaron's father is unknown, however there is a strong possibility that he was fathered by a relative of Hugh McDonald.
On October 30, 1879, Aaron married Sallie Carter, who was born January 1864. Sallie's parents were Harry and Hannah Carter, of Kemper, Mississippi. Aaron and Sallie lived in Perry County, Mississippi until their deaths (dates unknown).
