The McDougal's of Lane, Kansas

I am researching the McDougal's who settled in Franklin and Miami Counties in Kansas in the 1800's. Other names associated are, Dunbar, Ellis, Brummage, Ballard, James, Wells, and Hickman. Prior to Kansas, the Family had been in West Virginia, Virginia and Scotland.
The earliest ancestors I've identified to date are William McDougal who emigrated from Lorn in Scotland in 1762 and settled in Virginia and a Thomas Ellis born in Virginia in 1776.
