Surname Spotlight: TROW, McDONALD, LeFEVRE, SERVIS, WHITING, MAKEPEACE, WINCH - 19th Century Wisconsin and Massachusetts
Greetings to all TROW researchers! The genealogical portion of our family's Web site at www.nataliemcdonald.com focuses on one line of the TROW family, which can presently be traced back to the 1682 arrival of Tobias TROW in Beverly, Essex County, Massachusetts. Tobias and his wife Mary GREEN of Salem had 10 children, and our research follows his line to the present day.
The descendants of Tobias and Mary relocated from Wenham, Essex County, Massachusetts ca. 1750 to Norton, Bristol County, Massachusetts, where Captain Israel TROW was distinguished for his service during the Revolutionary War. Captain TROW and his wife Mary CLAPP retired to Hardwick, Worcester County, Massachusetts ca. 1790, where our research extends to the surnames MAKEPEACE and WINCH.
The TROW grandchildren migrated cross-country ca. 1838 to Wisconsin, settling in Walworth, Winnebago and La Crosse Counties. Here they married into the DOUSMAN, LeFEVRE, McDONALD, SERVIS and WHITING families. We welcome correspondence from anyone else researching these surnames, and cordially invite you to visit the following genealogy pages on nataliemcdonald.com!
