The Family of William and Mary McDonald of Alpine, TN.

This site was originally set up for the family of William Wolford McDonald and his wife, Mary Elizabeth Allred McDonald. But we have found so much more about the family, both about ancestors and descendants. I urge anyone who views this site and has additional information to contact me. We want to speak with any McDonald ( or McDonnold as it were ) anywhere that is related to our family.

Some of the information that appears within my Family page has come from family records kept by my uncle James Maurice McDonald. When I started doing my own research three years ago, I was lucky to find so many good people who were willing to share. Folks like Francis Trimble of Redmond's line, Maurice McDonald from John Jr's line as well as Budge McDonnold who comes from the line of my great-great-great grandfather's son John. But all of us owe a tremendous debt to Joyce Stover of Burkesville Kentucky. It was Mrs. Stover who had done so much research and generously shared with others in order that they might know their roots that made alot of this possible. I thank Mrs. Stover for her particular help to me in locating old cemeteries in Cumberland County Kentucky.
