The McDowell's of Feakle, County Clare, Ireland

For the last 10 years I have been researching my McDowell forebears. Although the name is common in the North of Ireland, it is quite rare in County Clare, my family being the only one resident in the county that I am aware of.
The McDowells were the village shomakers in Feakle. They had a small farm in the townland of Furnacetown. Many of my grandfather's brothers and sisters emigrated to America or Australia. Through the internet many of the descendants of this family have been re-united.

I'll be pleased to hear from any McDowell descendants.
